Last spring the Smarter Balanced Assessment was administered to students. This is the state assessment which replaced the Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) and the Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) for literacy and mathematics.
Because this is a new assessment, the results are reported differently from previous assessments. To help parents understand the purpose of the assessment, expectations of the assessment, student results, and resources to support parents two informational session were offered. The following link will bring you to the presentation offered by Dr. Brooks, Assistant Superintendent and Mrs. Rutledge, Director of Teaching and Learning: Smarter Balanced Assessment Presentation. We would encourage you to review the PowerPoint presentation prior to reviewing student results. In addition, the videos of the parent informational session will be posted on BEtv.
If you should have any additional questions regarding the results. please do not hesitate to contact your building principal.
