Congratulations! The Bethel High School Marching Wildcats won the Class 2A USBands National Championship at USBands National Championships! On Sunday, November 6, 2016 the Bethel High School Marching Wildcats took first place at the US Bands National championships held in Allentown, PA. Amongst a field of 24 competing bands, the Marching Wildcats were victorious, and brought home the impressive first place trophy. Bethel’s marching band has had a wonderful season, performing at eleven competitions, and remaining undefeated throughout. In preparation for Nationals, the students, along with band director Damon Coachman, set a goal of achieving a score of 96 by the end of the season. They achieved their goal, receiving a score of 96.813, earning the following caption awards: Best Music, Best Visual, Best Overall Effect, and Best Color-Guard. To top it off, they also won the prestigious Esprit de Corps Award. The marching band is comprised of 45 members in 5 sections. Eric Fehr is the band’s drum major, leading them through the season. The brass section is comprised of: Evan Barnabo, Michael Chittem, Owen Daly, Taryn Fortier, Cyril Gutzman, Dean Havelock, Cameron Klinefelter, Ruben Morais, Jessica Rossato, Rafael Vega and Tyler Whittall. The drumline is comprised of: Creston Craig, Tom Dolman, Josh Hermann, Michael Lopez, Logan Sprock, and Nate Sprock. The color guard is comprised of: Samantha Burke, Shannon Burke, Jayme Columbo, Maeve Famularo, Ilona Farkas, Mia Gaida, Sophia Galante, Kasey Galbis, Aliha Haider, Alexandra Luhrs, Maddie Michel, Kira Rubin and Maddy Wachnuik. The pit is comprised of: Abby Bozzuti, Ruby Kenausis, Jillian Ramey, Victor Roldan and Kaia Szulewski. The woodwinds are comprised of: Ameet Banala, Molly Boucher, Maria D’Arco, Michael D’Arco, Abby Emslie, Ryan Lemone, Johnny Mattera, Josh Rudinas and Malcolm Williams.
